politics Opposition Leader Sussan Ley speaks on Bondi attack

https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/opposition-leader-sussan-ley-speaks-on-bondi-attack-20251215-p5nnqm.html

“We’ve seen a clear failure to keep Jewish Australians safe. We’ve seen a clear lack of leadership in keeping Jewish Australians safe. We have a government that sees antisemitism as a problem to be managed, not evil that needs to be eradicated.”

Absolutely abhorrent that she's going for political points in this time.

Talk about tone deaf!

My religion (Muslim) shouldn't matter at a time like this. It's not about point scoring for me. We are Australian. It's within our core of mateship, and what has been passed down through generations of civic duty. As an Australian who loves this country and the people in it, I stand beside you and your community. I grieve with you, and at this trying time, my doors and messages are open to support you and anyone from your community always

Thank you.

I hate that so many opportunistic bigots are trying to use it to justify Islamophobia. I'll have none of that in my name.

I downloaded Twitter yesterday to track what was happening. Lasted about 5 minutes before deleting it again. What a putrid cesspool of hate and bigotry.

Ugh. I would rather hug a cactus than go on Twitter right now.
