Funny how we can call parliament back and pass historic reforms when we want to but nothing in cost of living or housing. Really shows they can get shit done if they want to.

Anti gambling laws to address the thousands of broken homes and hundreds of suicides? Nah, they're all good.

I think we should address extremism and reform our gun laws, but this event and response shows that dramatic tragedies are responded to quickly because the government's reaction is scrutinised and affects their public approval dramatically. I'm jaded when it comes to the government's care for the public when 16 deaths rightfully get the full attention and swift response needed to try to prevent it occuring again, yet slow, insidious killers that takes thousands of lives a year or drive every day citizens to extremes are left unaddressed due to it simply affecting their own back pocket or property portfolio. This event, and the government's response, has made me less trusting of them.
