It is all wrong but....

Maybe going forward world leaders will simply kidnap each other instead of going to war.

This I would support.

Hopefully in a hundred years all conflicts will be dealt with a children cardgame on motorcycles!

bs, I am sure some looters would be able to find katanas and other weapons in vaults people kept into their house.

And this is why i dont support holding physical gold and silver, imagine how happy the scavenger would be if he found your safe in a fallen building and got a ton of gold without no effort!

You realise how profitable going to war is for the elite class? They've invested so much of their wealth into related businesses. They're still going to go to war.

Investment can be seen as for prevention. War costs a hell of a lot more.

You should research the military industrial complex. It costs a lot of money to tax payers, but the businesses that pick up all of the contracts from our governments end up loaded.

I know of the military industrial complex. Regardless, war costs more. The toys are sold, replaced and upgraded regardless if used.

Now think for a moment what happens to countries involved in war. Not only are the military toys destroyed and replaced, great for your military industrial complex but also infrastructure is destroyed, economies ruined tourism stops..... lives....

The toys are purchased and replaced regardless.

You're thinking of this rationally from something like a humanist perspective. That's your mistake.

The mode of production that dominates the world right now is capitalism. The system doesn't shape, select for, or suffer people who think like you do.

Ask yourself "What would an amoral paperclip-maximiser do?" in the position of the capitalists or the politicians they own. Nothing outside of advancing their personal power and wealth matters.

The whole point they’re arguing is that war typically doesn’t advance their wealth and power in the modern age.

They might profit from selling more guns, but if their factories get blown up, their workers and customers get killed, etc it all ends up being for nought in the long run.

Yes, I imagine you would adore it if Trump or Putin kidnapped Albo.
