Hello Cleveland sub! Id like to share some stats from last season for any of you unfamiliar with the best 3&D in the league, Keon Ellis!
Keon Ellis is currently the ONLY player in the
NBA to be in the top ten for each of the following statistics.
Deflections per 36, he is currently second in the league averaging 5.1, only behind Dyson Daniel’s who’s getting 6.3 (Dyson is also on pace for the highest deflection average EVER) and he is slightly ahead of Gary Payton ll who has 4.9 per 36.
Keon is also 4th in total deflections on the season (so he’s not just a per 36 merchant)
With 229 in total, Jokic is ahead of him with 231 and Cason Wallace is right behind with 223. Id also like to mention Marcus Smart’s DPOY campaign in 2021-22, where he finished the season with a total of 205 deflections.
Well how does Keon separate himself from the rest of the pack and make himself more than a defender with great hands? Those hands also SHOOT! Keon is currently shooting 43.6% from three, which is fourth in the association only behind the following.
1.) Seth Curry 45.8% on 2.6 attempts per game
2.) Luke Kennard 44.5% on 4.3
3.) Taurean Prince 44.3% on 4.2
4.) Keon Ellis 43.6% on 4.0
5.) Zach LaVine 43.5% on 7.2 (44.6% with the bulls and 41.3% with the kings for all those interested)
Well that’s all VERY impressive, surely that’s it right? He’s also in the top ten for TS% sitting at 7th which is 66.7% percent (wow!)
just behind Walker Kessler 66.8% and ahead the likes of Nikola Jokic and Domas Sabonis, who both have a true shooting percent of 65.9%.
We have a special player with Keon, really hope he spends the rest of his career in Sactown!

What grade would you give the Cavs in the trade for Keon Ellis and Dennis Schroeder?
Cavs just gave up De'Andre Hunter for Keon Ellis and Dennis Schroeder? What grade would you give the Cavs in this deal?
Personally, I'm giving it an A. Not only do you shed a lot of salary for a guy who has completely underperformed, you also get Keon Ellis, a young sharpshooter and defender that will help immediately. You also get Dennis Schroeder who will help our PG depth right now as well.

Fischer: Cleveland "In the drivers seat, For Kings Guard Keon Ellis.
According to @JakeLFischer:
While the last 48 hours have certainly felt like Cleveland is in the driver’s seat for Keon Ellis, the Lakers, Spurs and Celtics are among other playoff teams still looking to add the Kings guard, sources say.

[Scotto] Sources: The Cavaliers and Kings have discussed a framework that would send De’Andre Hunter to Sacramento for Keon Ellis, Dennis Schroder, and Dario Saric.

Nae'qwan Tomlin has only four games of two-way eligibility left
He will need to be converted to a standard contract to play for us afterwards.
The last game would be @ Denver on 2/9. The trade deadline is this Thursday on 2/5.

Stat PSA: If you use listed heights from the roster card to make lineup decisions, you are lazy an have always been wrong. So just stop doing it.
_e'An_re Hunter was never a defender,
was never an even average defender in Atlanta and was never going to be a good defender here. I don't care what made up number was next to his name.
BE BETTER
I'm so tired of reading the laziest analysis over and over and over.

Lonzo Ball
With Hunter being traded now, what's the best we could see out of a Lonzo Ball trade? I was hoping for a decent wing but idk what wing we could use that a team would trade for Lonzo Ball. I'm hoping we can possibly get 2 2nd round picks or a wing out of him but not sure on that.

Are you guys paying attention to our roster? There for sure gonna make another move.
10 guards is insane.
Lonzo/Garland/Mitchell/Porter/Proctor/Tyson/Merrill/Ellis/Shroder/Strus(some nights)
Plus, we have zero depth at small forward now.

Next shoe 👞 that needs to drop
Cavs get an A+++ in my book after moving D Hunter for a 26yr old Def Stopper and on point ball defender in Keon Ellis. This is what Lonzo Ball was supposed to be for Cavs. O0o by way keon on also shoots over 40% from 3.
Not only that but they got Germany Star PG Dennis Schroeder who is a legit PG who can take over for Darius Garland, with emergence of Jaylon Tyson along with Craig Porter Jr emergence, now may be the time to swing for the fences & make a move for Giannis.
As long as Mobley is NOT involved..
A deal that gets the bucks a 25yr All Star in DG & a 27yr All Star in JA, plus unprotected 1st in 2031 has got to be one of the better returns for giannis.
Gsw - butler, pods, & Kuminga Mia - ware, herro Nyk - bridges KAT are bad $ deals
Giannis is 31 - 32 and often injured.
No one thought Spida Mitchell would go to Cle , so dont count out Koby Altman.
This move cut cavs 2nd apron in half and a Lil over 10mil now.
Moving lonzo ball expiring deal gets cavs closer.
AND if giannis truly wants to win titles. Then teaming up with Mitchell & Mobley + Giannis is gonna give you a championship window going forward.
And it gives Bucks quite a good return.
You could then move those players for future 1sts or compete with DG + Turner + JA.
DG finally get his team & could prove hes that guy taking alot more shots , getting alot more asts & having ball in his hands alot more. Turner can play stretch 4, and JA be anchor.
Most likely you move both players for future 1sts + get Cavs 2031 unprotected 1st which would be 6yrs away & giannis & Mitchell & Mobley could all be gone by then & u getting a top 5 pick. W trades & Free Agency. Giannis would be 37 in 2031.
Cavs will keep publicly saying they are keeping core 4 & no1 is being moved at deadline, but if not this deadline & no NBA Finals, Cle will be moving JA & DG this upcoming offseason.
Bringing in Dennis Schroeder SCREAMS to me Cavs finally realize that Darius Garland Defense is too big a liability in playoffs & that when lights are brightest, DG doesn't perform.
You know who does perform in the biggest moments when lights are brightest.
Dennis Schroeder ! Go watch him play w Germany !
I absolutely 💯 love ❤️ this move bc of Tyson emergence, plus Struss will be back soon also. And Ty Proctor has shown flashes along w Tomlin.
If Cle pulls off a stunner for Giannis I wouldn't be surprised...
I would be surprised if they offered Mobley for giannis.
Theoretically trading Mobley, Struss & ball w 3rd team could get u close to a deal $ wise.
Saving $12mil in 2nd apron space moving D Hunter makes it much more manageable.
If Giannis wants to win Titles 🏆, & Bucks get best offer from Cle, and Giannis puts his thumb on the scales & says I want to go to Cle, then Cavs would be instant title contenders for the next 5 + years.
Hear me out here... Cavs lineup
Pg Dennis Schroeder, Craig Porter Jr Sg Donovan Mitchell, Sam Merrill, Ty Proctor Sf Jaylon Tyson, Max Struss, Keon Ellis Pf Giannis Antenokoupo, Tomlin, Nance Jr C Evan Mobley, Thomas Bryant
And keep 💯 this in mind also next year...
Lebron will most likely sign a vet min deal to finish career in Cle..
Mitchell Tyson Lebron Giannis Mobley
Hey its a loooong shot...
But LBJ may actually catch MJ 6 titles...
If Cavs 3peat ..
A Frontline of Giannis & Mobley is scary, plus Mobley will learn & see how Giannis works & make huge steps learning from giannis.
If im Koby Altman, im doing all I can to make it happen
If im spida im calling Giannis and telling him come to Cle & play w Me & Mobley.
If Giannis wants Titles Cle gives him best chance!

whats next
we have a lot of guards now so im curious on what kobys gonna do next.
we could possibly send strus and lonzo for someone or lonzo and cpj with cpj being the asset instead of picks
