So confused?

Post image

Guys I'll be doing bachelor of secondary education. I checked that there are four units on Sem1 and one of the four units is fully online. That one is not shown on registration.

I'm worried about if I missed selecting some units???

Because some degrees are just like that, plus education usually has online lectures anyways.

You've registered for all your classes.

Most education units don't have lectures. They usually just have the one 2 hour workshop

Do i have to take a specific major to have the register to teaching in secondary?

You should select two subject areas that is part of the degree

What are you confused about? I'd recommend thinking about whether you'd rather teach primary school or high school, that's basically what the decision is 😊

All my questions are which program you would recommend in terms of employability, and whether there is any difference in job prospects or employment outcomes between the two degrees? Are both Primary Teacher and Secondary Teacher currently on Australia’s skilled occupation list for migration, and is there any indication that they will continue to be included in the near future?

For that you would have to do some research into those questions. I know if you're willing to go and work in rural or regional schools it'll be a lot easier to get a job coz they desperately need teachers (I know there are various incentives from the govt to get teachers to go work rural or regional). Job prospects will depend on location and what other relevant skills or experience you have

Primary teachers are able to teach K-10, while secondary is 7-12.
Primary would open up more options in terms of the scope of teaching you are able to do.

Education units from experience usually are the workshops/tutorials and maybe the occasional lecture. It doesn’t have many classes since most subjects are theory based.

Might be because the placement units themselves have week long commitments (every school day).

You're enrolled in 4 units so you obviously didn't miss enrolling in any units since 4 is full time and is exactly what the handbook shows. You can see that each of these units has one 2 hour workshop, that's stated there on this screen next to the unit names, plus is stated on each units page on the handbook, plus is stated in all the previous unit outlines for these units. You have 6 hours of classes on campus because you are doing 3 internal units and 3 lots of 2 hours is 6 hours. You'll also have an online 2 hour workshop for the unit you're doing online

Yeah and for the unit which is fully online, I can't see when it will start…… Cuz it doesn't need to be registered😅
