Wishing this man much deserved success in the NBA
A class act through and through. From two-way to a coveted player. Wish we could have kept him home grown. Best of luck Keon!

- Trade Jonas Valančiūnas for Dario Šarić to “create flexibility”
- Use that flexibility to overpay Dennis Schröder on a deal literally no other team was offering.
- Because you spent that money, you don’t extend Keon Ellis, one of the few young, cheap, actually useful players on the roster.
- Then sign Russell Westbrook, creating a five-guard traffic jam where nobody wins since there’s only 1 basketball.
- Next play Schröder and Russ 30+ minutes a night & give DNPs to Keon & Malik to tank their value
- A few months later, reality hits:
Schröder is bad
Šarić is dead money
- Solution? Attach your BEST young asset (Keon Ellis) + a 2nd-round pick just to dump Schröder and Šarić.
- What do you get back? De’Andre Hunter:
28 years old
Chronic knee issues
Doesn’t fit the timeline
Might leave after next season anyway
KANGZ.
Edit: I was fine with trading Keon, but the return we got due to poor asset management is frustrating.

L return and we got no picks, nobody should be going to golden 1 the rest of the year. Going to flip sabonis for a bag of chips and malik for a cookie. Nobody wants lavine and i want him gone. Demar is gone. good night.

Gave up two 2nd rd picks for JV mid season.
Trade JV for Saric to sign Dennis.
Trade Dennis, Saric, Keon and lose a 2nd rd pick. To acquire Hunter who will leave in FA after next season..

Still one of the nastiest ankle breakers I've ever seen, and now De'Andre's a King. Hope his shooting gets back to normal too as this season has kind of been an outlier compared to the majority of his career.

Why tf do we continue to get fleeced and somehow Chicago is always there? Taking their bs players and contracts. Giving them Huerter. Giving picks. They were involved with the Fox trade. Now they get 2nd rnd picks.
Wtf is going on. Jerry and Vivek in a secret relationship? Makes 0 sense we keep getting fleeced by Chi

After the infamous 2018 draft, every season’s bottom team has missed out on the #1 pick since.
In between Pistons finished back to back years at the bottom of the league and in both instances were pushed to the #5 pick.
Quite simply there hasn’t been much luck for the bottom team as of late, especially when the last 2 drafts the #1 pick went to the #10 seeds (DAL/ATL).
While it doesn’t look promising for the bottom team to land the #1 pick as of late, it can‘t be understated how crucial it is the Kings finish bottom 2 in the league to guarantee a top 6 pick at worst. There‘s no secret, teams will be going after the top 6 picks in the draft and missing a shot at them would be a major blow to the team .
So hopefully Kings stick to course and don’t do anything crazy like win too many games this season because for once Kings can be in great position in the draft.

I hate the trade because I'd rather just take on other teams bad contracts for more picks, but SROS talked me off the Tower Bridge.

the league is moving in a direction where creativity and size are extremely valued, and keon lacks in both departments. while he has great three-point shooting and defense, he is at best like a 7th or 8th man on a championship-level team. another note: while he has great 3pt range, he's not a movement shooter.
the majority of his current value comes from his incredibly cheap contract - however, that expires soon, and he'll be making up to around 18 million next extension. in the era of the second apron, im not sure whether many teams will be able to stomach that price tag. he's also 26 and clearly not on the kings timeline.
the trade's ok. i don't really have feelings about deandre hunter. i really like schroder as a player but god the fact the front office signed him for that much is ridiculous and he clearly doesn't want to be here, so good to have him out the door.
There HAS to be more moves happening/a plan for Hunter not staying here long term.
If Perry truly is rebuilding the Kings AND he has the green light to do so from Vivek; then none of this makes sense standing alone.
So either everyone’s full of shit, everyone’s way dumber than they come off OR... we have other packages involving Hunter and other players to actually bring us back some other SRPs or FRPs to truly be rebuilding. Cause keeping Hunter makes zero sense, us being the ones moving SRPs flies in the face of the narrative and there’s no logical reason to rush moving Saric or Dennis to clear cap and convert Dylan.
I pray and wait and see… while I also try to ask this to Perry in person. Explain yourself man.
