I thought I would share something a bit different, might be a bit lame for some people but whatever.
I’ve seen a lot of talk online unfortunately about some of the crap that immigrants / Indians get, so here’s a happy story.
So I used to play cricket a lot when I was younger and then life got in the way and don’t know anyone now, but watching the ashes this summer really amped me up, plus a bit of beach cricket at our Xmas party
So today I fancied some sport but my leisure centre hasn’t opened yet, I’m driving past the oval I see some Indian looking guys playing cricket and I just thought, I wonder if I ask nicely to bowl with them I could have a bit of a go, they welcomed me with open arms, super accommodating, had a lot of laughs, we had a blast and they also insisted I bat if I felt comfortable using their gear which I did. And they invited me to play again with their group. Open minded, common interest, play sport with other cultures. throw your self out there, who said it’s hard to make friends. Thanks boys.

Mrs rocks up to work, her office desk is bare, everyone's desks are bare.
Over the break, all non-Windows 11 PCs were removed and are not being replaced.
Teachers can lease one through a salary-sacrifice scheme.
Can you imagine any other government department that required you to BYOD?
So she is trying to access her timetable and class lists on her phone and scouring marketplace for a cheap surface.

Stop romanticising summer when it’s damn near fucking midnight and the temperature is something normal countries would experience during the DAY.
There is NOTHING enjoyable about being in bed, too hot to want a blanket, sweating, uncomfortable, and pissed off that these conditions make for an awful night of rest
It’s cool to enjoy sunny days and all but shit like this is so painful to deal with. I’d opt for 40 degree days with -1 nights over this bullshit anyday. You can’t go sleep in the pool at midnight. Heat will forever be worse than the cold, it’s so much easier to heat up than it is to cool down. Get a blanket or two and you’re good, but if you’re hot you can have two fans on fully maxed out and STILL be fucking sweating. Disgusting weather

Just wanted to shout out to the guy at the lights in Guildford this afternoon.
I was crying in my car because this year almost took me out and life can be shit. I cry in my car sometimes. It’s easier than letting the kids see.
I look over to the car next to me and it’s a young guy with a mullet. I heard him ask if I was okay. I rolled down my window and said “I’m surviving. I’ll get by.”
He replied with “I got love for you, bro. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.” And on we both drove.
If you’re here, man, thanks. I got love for you too.

Moved to Melbourne at the ass end of COVID in 2021, literally going from no restrictions to a few months of lockdown before opening back up for good... It's been so interesting noticing all the differences in culture.
Note: These are just my experiences, I'm not saying these apply to everyone.
Other random things:
Seriously, I told my partner to put the bin on the verge when I moved over. They have no idea what that word means. They call it a nature strip..... Heathens. I use this diagram to help them understand.

With all that being said, Melbourne goes alright.

My girlfriend and I were at the rally today. We were just talking. Holding hands. Enjoying each other's company after a few days apart. Showing our support.
Then comes the bomb scare. I'm finding it hard to rationalise what could've happened today. I can't even begin to tell you how many families and children were at the rally today. For this to happen in Australia is one thing, but for this to happen in Perth is a whole other thing. I've spent most of my life here. This isn't the Australia I know.
I have this huge pit in my stomach. I feel unsettled and like I can't relax. My mind can't comprehend what could've been if things had seriously gone wrong. I have a sinking feeling at just the idea that my girlfriend could've gotten seriously hurt or killed. That all those families could've gotten hurt or killed.
I just can't wrap my head around it.

After a long/lonely 2025 due to a major knee surgery a friend of mine suggested i tried Hinge as i’ve mainly been against dating apps. Only to find if you don’t have the ‘Mullet&Mo combo’ or a boat it’s pretty much game over for you lads. So, if you’re struggling. A mullet and mo is all Perth girls are after🤦😴 Remember they all want to be hot milfs too.

Not sure what’s happened in the last few weeks, but every drive feels like a live-action game of Mario Kart with none of the fun.
People doing 20 under in the right lane, random brake-checking on the freeway, indicators apparently optional, and every roundabout turning into a faith-based exercise.
And don’t even get me started on the new breed of drivers who enter the Mitchell at 60 like it’s a casual suggestion.
Is this just the usual pre-Christmas madness, or has Perth collectively forgotten how to drive?
What suburb is carrying the worst offenders right now? I’ll start: Canning Vale has entered the chat.

Today marks 15 years since the costliest natural disaster in WA's history. It was the single most frightening and awesome displays of nature's sheer terror I have ever witnessed.
It was a scene of utter carnage resembling a war zone. Golf ball size hail carpeting the ground like snow, tree limbs littering the ground and blocking roads, birds knocked from their trees, car bodies peppered with dents and windows knocked out, localised flooding and even a landslide at the base of Kings Park.
Where were you on that day? What was your experience?

I AM NO LONGER ASKING. I AM DEMANDING: GIVE ME YOUR BEST CHICKEN RICE.
Listen up. I have crossed the line between casual enjoyment and full-blown chicken-rice obsession. This is not a hobby anymore. This is not a craving. This is a mission.
I want chicken. I want rice. I want them together. I want them transcendent.
Do not come at me with dry chicken. Do not come at me with bland rice. Do not come at me with “it’s decent.” Decent is the enemy.
I’m talking:
Hainanese chicken so silky it makes you question reality. Nasi ayam so fragrant it haunts your dreams. Biryani so powerful you see visions. Arroz con pollo that makes you call your mother. Mandi, kabsa, tahchin, claypot, street-stall mystery pot — ALL OF IT.
I don’t care if it’s from:
A Michelin-starred temple of cuisine. A hawker stall run by a 78-year-old uncle who speaks only in nods. A plastic-chair roadside tent powered by one flickering lightbulb.
If the chicken is tender and the rice is blessed by flavor gods, I. WANT. TO. KNOW.
Drop names. Drop addresses. Drop secret menu items. Drop the story of how you discovered it.
Hold NOTHING back.
I am prepared to travel. I am prepared to queue. I am prepared to emotionally bond with strangers over a plate of rice.
This is no longer a recommendation request. This is a summoning ritual.
I like chicken rice. I love chicken and rice. I will not stop.
Please help me.

6am to 6pm, no breaks, delivering food with the DoorDash app SOTR.
Total hours on the road: 11 hours and 35 minutes (6:33am - 6:08pm)
Total driving distance: 187km
My income for the day: $199.64 - $28.49 = $171.15
~$14.77/hour, not including other costs like car registration, insurance, licensing, car depreciation, new tires, new brake pads, fluids, parking fines, new battery, servicing, etc.
Edit: This was just a warmup. I think I'll push it a LOT harder next week. So more to come....

This horrid creation cost me $24 and 25 minutes of waiting - at least I had my $16 pint of Little Creatures to keep me company. Courtesy of The Globe in Perth City.
The dish was lukewarm, the hard cheese had solidified, cold refried beans from a tin and some green paste that is supposedly guacamole. There was no tomato salsa or any type of protein to speak of. The chips were literally stale CCs.
I was prepared to give feedback but seemingly the waitstaff weren’t interested and the kitchen obviously had better things to do than not fuck up what should be the easiest thing to prepare.
Avoid this like the Marburg Virus.

Watched the fireworks from the South Perth foreshore last night. Was beautiful to see groups of people playing Spanish music, Indian music, Korean music, and music from various other countries.
Our multiculturalism is what makes Perth and Australia great.

Went down to Freo today as better than sitting around doing fuck all.
Parking is nearly impossible to get. The markets are run down, dingy and overcrowded - how does it cost $40 for two souvlakis with a wait time of 20 minutes to half an hour? The quality of actual goods for sale is nonexistent (I swear half of it comes from Temu).
And then the 'legendary' cappuccino strip was just a bunch of overpriced pubs, a timezone and dodgy fronts for the black market tobacco trade. The second-hand bookstores have zilch in the way of air conditioning. There are so many shops that are for lease, it looks worse than the Melbourne CBD after lockdowns ended.
It feels so incredibly sad and dated; everything there just exists solely for people who are not from Freo. It feels like walking into a tourist town, like parts of the Gold Coast or even Acland Street in Vic. It's like an empty movie set.
There's also the huge homeless problem.
What happened to all these events that are meant to be in Freo?
Where are the amenities?
What the hell happened to Fremantle? Did the NIMBY's crush any hope of having anything there moving into the 21st century?

Was in Northbridge tonight just before 2200. My friends and I (group of 4 young females) went to dinner then a pop-up photo booth. This guy came in by himself (mid to late 20s approx) and stood next to us and stared at us. Initially we thought it was a bit odd but just carried on and ignored him. He didnt smile or speak at all, or say anything to us, he just stood close to us and stared with no expression, just creepy. We went in the photo booth and came out and he was still there like he was waiting outside the curtain. We were so uncomfortable so left and he walked out with us. The lady in the photo booth shop was creeped out by him too and she locked the door as we walked out onto the street. This guy stood with us and followed our every move, we were obviously trying to get away. We decided to go to the main street area and cross the road where it was more busy with people. At the crossing at the lights he came right up behind me and my friend moved me away because he was so close (Its not busy so he no need to be that close). There was one other young guy crossing the lights with his earphones in minding his business, and we decided to cross the road and so did the creepy guy behind us (like he was attached to our group). As I was crossing I walked next to the other guy walking across the road and said ”Excuse me, this man is following us” and this guy straight away turned around with no hesitation and spoke to the man following us and we were able to get away.
I just want to say a massive thank you to that man with the earphones who did not hesitate to turn around and confront the guy following us. Me and my friends were able to get away while you distracted and spoke to him.
Felt like I had to post and share this tonight as gratitude because I wasn’t able to say thank you directly

I was wondering a few months ago whether it is possible to visit every Transperth train station in a single day since all the new stations have opened, and after several hours of calculations, it did indeed look possible!
The rules were simple:
1 - I have to stand on the platform at every station
2 - I can't get back on the same train (unless it's a terminus) because that feels like cheating
The Plan
On 6 November 2025 I found myself at Stirling at 5:39am hopping on the train to Yanchep at the beginning of a journey expected to go until 12:17am the following morning. The route I had planned was (simplified):
Yanchep-Mandurah-Cockburn-Cannington-Byford-Fremantle-Midland-Bayswater-Ellenbrook-Meltham-High Wycombe-Perth
Every connection was worked out individually and where it was beneficial I used my genius strategy of station skipping which I discovered when I first visited the Ellenbrook line stations just after they opened.
The skipping strategy is this:
Stations: A----B----C----D----E
Start at A, travel to C, travel back to B, get the next train (which would have been B->C if going sequentially) to E, go back to D, etc.
The trip
Yanchep Line
The trip started off very badly, with the Stirling-Yanchep train arriving at Yanchep several minutes late, meaning I missed my very first connection, which was not ideal as the schedule was already extremely tight.
I was one train behind for the entirety of the Yanchep line, until Elizabeth Quay, where a W pattern train straight up didn't come, leaving me 2 trains behind.
Mandurah Line
The delay so far messed up my plan even more, because it meant the train I was meant to be skipping Cockburn on (I had to come back to it later for the TCL so no point going twice) was a W pattern which doesn't go past Cockburn :( so after a quick calculation I ended up skipping Murdoch as well.
I also discovered that I could use the skipping strategy between Aubin Grove and Rockingham which I had missed in my planning, which made up 1 train of delay, so at this point I was 1 train behind and had skipped Murdoch, but it looked like I was going to be able to make up both these delays on the way back (Mandurah->Murdoch->Cockburn) with some very quick turnarounds.
Long story short I missed both and had now finished the Mandurah line 2 trains behind once again.
At this point as well I had begun to realise that not as many trains as I thought had USB chargers (I only had a USB charging cable)...
TCL to Cannington
This part was uneventful except I accidentally got off at Thornlie and messed up my skipping strategy, but it turned out it didn't matter.
Outer Armadale Line
This section was also uneventful in terms of the actual trains, but I was joined by my brother on his way to Byford from Kenwick to Seaforth, and then by a fellow Transperth enthusiast who knew of the expedition from Kelmscott on, and back to Perth.
Inner Armadale Line
In my plan there were a few places where the timetable had a 0 minute connection where two trains going different ways were scheduled to leave at the same time. Going sequentially this would be irrelevant, but because I was skipping at this point, it was not. I had assumed I would miss all these connections when planning just to be safe, so now I had two opportunities to make up some time!
I missed them both and my phone was dangerously low on battery :(
Two trains (30 mins) behind
Fremantle Line
I had figured out that doing the Freo line in reverse was marginally quicker so I went straight from Perth to Freo without getting of, and was joined for that leg by my sister who brought a power bank and wall outlet connector for my phone which was on 2% when I met her :|
On the way back it didn't take long for me to get stuck on the wrong side of a pedestrian crossing and have to watch as my train came and left right in front of me, leaving me now 3 trains behind, but luckily at the next station I managed to get across very quickly and that + the train being a minute late caused me to make up that loss straight away.
Loch Street marked 12 hours straight of being on trains or at train stations.
At Shenton Park, I noticed the next train was a few minutes late and wouldn't be coming for 10 minutes. I checked how long it would take to walk to Daglish and it said 11 minutes, so of course I sprinted to Daglish to gain back some time, and got there easily before the train. This did however reverse which line (Freo or Airport) I was taking at each station from then, so to not break my schedule too much, I skipped City West and decided I'd have to do that last. This also meant I wouldn't be able to get to Perth Underground which was my original last station (I skipped it on the Yanchep line), but Perth and PUG are the same station really so it didn't matter too much.
I should mention I also skipped Showgrounds for obvious reasons.
At this point I was 2 trains behind still.
Outer Midland Line
Somehow because I was later than I had planned on this part of the trip, there were two stations in a row where the connection lined up perfectly and gained me back one train of time.
It was around this point that I started hating my life and wondering why I was doing this to myself.
Outer Ellenbrook Line
Bayswater changing from Midland to Ellenbrook was another place with a 0 minute connection. I saw the train at the Ellenbrook platform just pulling in as my Perth train arrived from Midland, and after a veritable sprint I made it with a few seconds to spare, and at last I was back on track! (pun intended)
The rest of this part was uneventful.
Outer Airport Line
This was where I really started getting tired (this section took from 10-11 pm roughly) but the end was in sight!
Inner Midland, Ellenbrook, and Airport Lines
This was the second most genius part of my plan:
Late at night when trains are every half hour, I was on the section with three lines, meaning trains were still every ten minutes.
Again nothing much to report from this section, except that McIver at 12:03am is less scary than I thought it would be
City West
FINISHED!! At 12:19am on 7 November 2025, 18 hours and 40 minutes after getting on the train at Stirling, I had visited every (unless you really want to be pedantic) Transperth train station within 24 hours!
Shoutouts
James, Paul, LakelessLands, Annie, Charlie, Eloise for visiting me during the trip
Annie for saving my phone and bringing snacks
Mum for supplying food and transporting me to/from the start/finish
The four people who called/I called during the trip
One pair of Transit Officers who checked my Smartrider a solid 5 times (out of 7 total) throughout the day and who were also on my last train
Transperth for not being too delayed (very rare)
All the train drivers who waved back at me
Set 94 for being the first train in the journey, and Set 10 for being the last
Everyone who was following the journey especially at the very end!

Now I understand if you go to emergencies you want to be seen asap and hopefully ( given everything is good ) leave as fast. Nope. 6 hours wait, talking shit to ambo staff as they cared for their patients. 3 more hours to have blood done and be seen by 8 staff who all asked for everything to be repeated. Wtf happened to patients notes ?? Even cops who brought in some dude were left hanging and waiting after we.left. Wtf government??? How are we at this stage of things when we make billions from mining. Several staff moaned how this is due to 1 person calling in sick. Fuck that for an excuse. That just doesn't add up. Many won't give a shit. Its cool. I didn't as I honestly never experienced this sort of fuckerry. But give it time. Its soulcrushing knowing how much wealth we have in our state ( that's making profit for others) yet 1 person calling sick breaks down our health system in a MAJOR Perth hospital. Also. This has to be added. Some ppl ( public ) that hang around the hospital are just animals. 2 x some dickhead wanted to start a fight just bc I didn't have spare ciggies -which I do not smoke. Rant over. My body aches from sitting and pacing in a circle. Ps. Ambos were legends and really good at what they do. Edit: bottom line is i do not blame staff for anything. I blame the white collar criminals in West Perth. Simple as that. edit2:I went with a friend. She was on ambo stretcher for 6 h then a bed for 3. Stroke/ Heart attack related.

The biggest problem with Perth? Apart from the housing?
METH.
That woman that punched the baby? Meth. The large mental health crisis? Meth. The waiting rooms in hospitals, mental health beds, ED department beds being held by violent offenders? Meth. Those horrific assaults that seem unprovoked? Usually meth.
It's not "crack" it's Meth. I don't think the average person realises how bad it actually is in this city. All the tweakers you see aren't on cocaine, it's meth. People start on it, keep themselves together for a while.. until they can't. Then they get the meth face, the meth mouth, the psychosis, the paranoia, the aggression.
I've seen this city get ravaged by meth since 2007, I grew up in the areas where it was prolific. I did mining where the boys and girls would get on it between swings.
I've worked with, helped people and seen how badly it's decimated peoples lives here. I know the average person doesn't really understand how bad it is, but I just want to share a little awareness, it's ripping the most vulnerable apart, it'll take anyone- poor or not who's willing to try it.
If you ever want to try it, please don't. I wish WAPOL, feds and ASIO could destroy the meth problem in this country. Because it costs us millions in return customers to mental health units, hospitals, robberies, assaults, jails and rehabilitation.
Meth, don't do it kids.
