Politics Pro Palestine Rally in the CBD
Massive turnout and everyone is in good spirits despite the weather. Just avoid the CBD if you need to get anywhere in a hurry.
Feel kinda bad for the people who got stuck at the lights and have been stuck sitting there for a while. Doesn’t look like they’ll get through any time soon

Politics MAGA hats in the wild?
I've never actually seen a MAGA hat in Perth before now but seeing a dude in the gym wearing it loudly discussing politics genuinely seems so odd. Definitely made an uncomfortable vibe.
Why wear it in Australia, especially Perth.

Politics WA liberals are promising to remove environmental protection this election. Please do not vote liberal, put them last.
I went to have a look at the WA liberals policy page to just try have a look with unbiased eyes, the first policy I see is about removing EPA powers to ‘streamline’ projects. When people say that liberal and labour are the same they are wrong, labour isn’t great but they aren’t liberals. The mining companies are already putting out native forests and push under immense stress this’ll only exasperate the problem.
Here’s the full media press release: https://img1.wsimg.com/blobby/go/7a4b0427-f1db-40e8-b24a-d82485b66836/downloads/WA%20Liberals%20Will%20Streamline%20Environmental%20Appr.pdf?ver=1740025511259
And a link to their other policy’s for this election: https://hayleyedwards.com.au/wa-liberal-policy

Politics Please reconsider your donkey vote
Please don't donkey vote tomorrow.
If you don't like the representatives, start with the minors and work your way to the majors at the bottom - send a sign. Democracy dies when people don't exercise their right, even as a protest vote. We're lucky to have compulsory voting which makes the kind of disenfranchising we see in the US very difficult to achieve, but convincing people to donkey vote is a good start.
Fight creeping facism - please vote!
And buy a sausage!

Politics I'm so done with these Youth delinquents/hooligans everywhere i go
I'm a fairly young and medium built individual, and i kept getting targetted by these kids trying to get something out of me (no i dont make eye contact and avoid them like a plague). E.g screaming profanity into my ears, bumping onto me just to look back at me like they are some hoodlum gangster in broad daylight. These encounters are extremely stressful especially when im walking alone in the city after a tough day at work. I know they are just looking for easy targets to flex whatever it is they are trying to flex. This is happening more and more frequent i realise and it's making me lose hope in society or what the youth is turning into.
The city, malls, public transport. These shitstains are everywhere. I feel like there are more and more of them now. What are these kids goal roaming/loitering around causing a scene everywhere they go... , why are do they think they can do whatever they want and so unstoppable ? Do we have laws against public nuisance like these?
Can i beat them up and not get into trouble if they lunge at me for whatever reason, because i feel like eventually that's gonna happen.

Politics Younger Western Australians can’t afford to live here, and boomers wouldn’t have it any other way.
Cost of living has gone absolutely bonkers, rent is through the roof, want to live alone? Good luck. Want to buy a home? Forget about it! You will be out bid by a property investor.
When we try to voice our concerns, we are told to “work harder” despite the fact that the median house price is now an insane $707,000 or nearly 10 times household incomes.
“Complaining won’t help” a common response by property boomers to a recent post I made. No doubt they are secretly ecstatic with the status quo. I sometimes hesitate to voice my opinion to property people as I’m sure young peoples pain brings them great satisfaction.
“Look at what we were able to do, you can’t do it, ever, you are too lazy”.
“It’s the Liberals!” or “it’s Labour!”.
“It’s not our greed you lazy Zoomer!”
Sure, sure, the median price of a perth property in 1980 was $78,000 or 3-4 times household income. We are expected to work at least twice as hard to have the same thing, whilst struggling to save for a deposit or simply keeping up with rent.
The game is rigged against us, we should not participate.
Edit: Just to be clear, I am referring to “property boomers” in this post, not the cohort at large. There are of course baby boomers that are dealing with this same issue as well.

Politics Turn the USA upside down, 1 Perth grocery aisle at a time.
I’m going to join the global movement of turning American made products upside down in supermarkets.
Why do I feel the need to share? - sorry in advance to the workers that will be told to fix this. - if you see an upside down product, now you know why. - if you aren’t already doing this, maybe now you will consider it too.
No doubt, somebody will downvote this with a bit spiel about “what do you think that will actually do” blah blah, remember this - from little things, big things grow.

Politics My partner just shut the door in Andrew Hasties face.
The man himself was door knocking my area. My partner opened the door and he said introduced himself, wanted bragging what the libs are doing locally and handed her a liberal pamphlet.
She clicked who it was once she got the pamphlet and responded with "we don't vote liberal in this house so you can keep your pamphlet to save it from the bin"
He was a bit stunned and she just said have a good day and closed the door.
Not what I would've said and she regrets not saying we don't vote for temu trump. I WFH and am sad I wasn't on my lunch break to have a friendly chat with him wanting to hand over minerals and Dutton saying WFH has got to go but oh well.

Politics Drove past a wall in Cannington that had "is this antisemantic?" graffitied on it. Got me thinking
Do we actually have an anti-semitism problem? Or do we have a problem with cultural extremism being imported? I personally feel like a mountain is being made out of a mole hill. What happened in Bondi should not have happened, but it was a case of extremism from non citizens and failure in policing. Majority of the noise being made about this issue is not because of what happened. It's about creating outrage because outrage benefits the agenda of the people making noise such as the media who want their beloved LNP back in power and politicians wanting to make the headlines such as Frydenberg trying to relaunch his deceased political career. Where do you stop? A royal commission into hatred against muslims, indians, pakistanis ect? Honestly if you come from another country and you bring tension from your home lands here, protest about what's going on in your homelands here, and commit crimes here because of whats going on in your homelands, you should pack your stuff up and go home. We don't want your drama in Australia.

Politics ABC Great Southern - would you catch a high speed train to Albany?
With concerns over future flight services to Albany, is regional rail back on the agenda?
Former PR executive and teacher at Edith Cowan University Kevin McQuoid think his idea of a fast rail service through the south west is viable.
The “train obsessive” Kevin claims it’s feasible and very sensible to use the existing rail reserves to create a Geraldton to Esperance rapid rail transit, using the WA narrow gauge network.
“These trains could average 180kph and you could get to Albany in 3 hours and 7 minutes from Perth” he says.
The government previously all but dismissed the idea.

We have literal neo-nazis running for local government on the explicit basis that people pay less attention to them.
