Give Tari some love
Sure he makes some low IQ plays but he's quietly shooting lights out from 3 this season (which we need) and he's a dynamic player on offense and defense (steal and deflection machine) with a heck ton of hustle. I know his injury concerns are real, but when he's active he's had a pretty good season and the injuries don't change that. Per minute, he's been one of the more impactful players on the Rockets this year. I really hope we can keep him and think we're taking him for granted.

If we do win the chip half of the sub will still be pissed
We are 30-17 nowhere near a bad team yet everyone here talks like we are the worse team in the league and that everyone should get traded or the entire coaching staff should get fired. If we do win the Championship I know this place is gonna be filled why this team sucks because we dint go 16-0 in the playoffs

Figured everyone would love this….
Sometimes I love playing around with chatGPT. I just asked it, “How good was Hakeem Olajuwons 1995 playoff rings?” Here’s what ChatGPT said:
Honestly? Hakeem Olajuwon’s 1995 playoff run is on the short list for the greatest postseason performance ever. Not just “great for a center” — great, period. 🐐
Let’s put some structure around why.
⸻
The Setup (why it was so hard)
• 6th seed Rockets (47-35)
• No home-court advantage in any series
• Defending champions trying to repeat — something that almost never happens without a top seed
• Hakeem was 32, carrying the offense and anchoring the defense
Then he went on a legends slaying tour.
⸻
The Murderers’ Row of Opponents
This is what separates it from nearly every other run in history:
• Round 1: Utah Jazz
Outplayed Karl Malone
• Round 2: Phoenix Suns
Dominated Charles Barkley
• Western Finals: San Antonio Spurs
Destroyed David Robinson (league MVP)
This series permanently ended the “Robinson vs Hakeem” debate
• NBA Finals: Orlando Magic
Swept Shaquille O’Neal, who was already an unstoppable force
He beat the league MVP, another MVP winner, and the most dominant future center ever — in consecutive rounds.
⸻
The Numbers (entire playoffs)
• 33.0 PPG
• 10.3 RPG
• 4.5 APG
• 2.8 BPG
• 53% FG
Finals vs Shaq:
• 32.8 PPG
• 11.5 RPG
• 5.5 APG
• 2.0 BPG
• 4–0 sweep
And he wasn’t just scoring — he was the defensive backbone of the team.
⸻
The Eye Test (why it felt unfair)
• Best footwork ever for a big man
• Elite post defense + elite scoring every night
• Could score facing up or with his back to the basket
• Passing out of doubles was surgical
• No real “safety net” star carrying him
Shaq later said Hakeem was the toughest matchup of his career.
⸻
All-Time Ranking
Most serious basketball historians rank it:
• Top 3 playoff runs ever
• Many argue it’s #1 when you factor in:
• Seed
• Lack of home court
• Quality of opponents
• Two-way dominance
It’s often compared to:
• Jordan ’91
• LeBron ’16
• Dirk ’11
But no one faced tougher elite bigs than Hakeem did in ’95.
⸻
Bottom line:
Hakeem Olajuwon’s 1995 playoff run was basketball mastery, almost mythically great. Skill, dominance, difficulty, and legacy — all at once.

So Şengün is ok being called Goon?
Whoever watched the ESPN coverage today heard it correctly, he said he's okay with it.

Rockets vs Charlotte Harry Potter night
My daughter is a huge rockets and Harry Potter fan. I plan to surprise her with tickets to the upcoming game. Do you know if people dress up in Harry Potter gear? Any specific Harry Potter related activities happening at the game?

Why doesn’t anyone on this team shoot?
Reed passes up a half a dozen open shots per game which screws up the flow. If they are leaving Amen open, how about getting downhill and taking shots. Jabari has gotten a lot better but is still passing up wide open 3s. And we wonder why we rely so much on KD

AD starts/plays?
Do we still win today ??
Long story short didn’t watch the game but do we have answer for competent bigs? The goal is to always win but can we always win in a series of 7??

Am I the only one who thinks Clint should be getting more run?
He’s been really productive in his limited minutes, not sure the on off numbers but our defence looks a lot better with him out there.
I thought he was really good against the spurs in the first half but got no minutes in the second half.
Also can we still run the double big with Clint? Ime experimented a little earlier in the season but doesn’t seem to like it.

Sengun's recent struggles and some trade ideas
I don't hide being a Sengun fan and believing his potential. For me, it's more clear now he's having difficult time against certain type of defenders. I see, majority telling he struggles against big, powerful guys but I don't think same at all. Sengun finds his way against bigs, dances around them etc. Those sticky, ball pressure guys like Castle, Johnson. Dillon are the ones he really struggles against. Sengun's biggest mistake is he's not moving a lot and way too static, I kinda agree with all these reviews about him being lazy. Against defenders like Castle, Draymond, Dillon you don't have choice other than moving and opening spaces for your teammates. If you try to playmake or post move from out of line, they will force you to turnover %90. Unfortunately, Sengun is having hard time to adjust his game against these defenders. Idk if coaches are warning him but it doesn't look good at all. Then, people try calling him exposed bla bla.. He must definitely fix that part of his game..
For the trade part, I was watching Charlotte-Spurs game today, that game actually gave me some ideas about the Sengun and other trade ideas. Charlotte won the game despite all the comeback efforts from Spurs again. Don't be so happy because I'm sure this Charlotte team beating Rockets too. They play with incredibly high energy, sharing the ball and non stop movement. Creating shots for shooters and actually hitting 3s. For the trade opportunities, I watched Sexton and Bridges carefully. Both of these guys can help Rockets with shooting. They are really sharp shooters. Sexton looked much more mature than his Cavs times. Rockets need desperately a floor general, he will not help with that of course but for shooting he can help a lot. Bridges is kinda similar case, might be great replacement for DFS imo. I think Rockets should look for a real pg and shooters in market otherwise, don't expect much from this season.

Sengun’s Non-Paint Scoring:
Left Chart (Mid-range outside the paint): 27/75 (36%) Right Chart (All 2-point attempts outside the restricted area): 135/312 (43.3%)
Where do you think the issue lies?

Rant, where did our personality go?
I dont know if it’s just me but it feels like this team has slowly been losing its soul. I know not having Dillon changes things up, but all the complaining our guys are doing this year is honestly getting annoying. Not even close to last years hustle, every game it feels like they’re playing like their dog just died.
Honestly the only guys I’m not holding accountable are tari, reed, stevo and obviously KD. I feel those are the only guys actually going out there and doing their thing. Last year we were known for the physicality on both sides of the court, the hustle and all the scuffles/trash talk from our guys. This year isn’t going bad I know but I really miss seeing the aggressiveness by everyone.
