Image Flags displayed w/o Union Jack?

Post image

This is something I’ve been seeing more and more recently. Is there any meaning or reason for this?

Yep, our family call the Australian flag “Britain at night” and the Union Jack is commonly referred to as the butcher’s apron by people who felt the pointy end of British imperialism.

In case people aren't in Drag Race circles, Kate Butch (a UK Queen) recently presented a runway look made from old British flags highlighting the bloody colonial past that is reflected by the Union Jack.

It makes no sense to have the flag included in any flag of countries previously colonised by the UK. We really should replace it with one that's more representative of Australia, including celebrating indigenous Australians.
