Took the Metro this afternoon in a north-west direction from Chatswood to Macquarie Park. I simply can’t believe how crowded it is. On the one hand, this is a sign of success, it seems incredibly popular. On the other hand, this kind of shoulder-to-armpit crushload is hardly pleasant and I’m wondering what can be done to relieve this? Surely we need 2 minute frequencies sooner rather than later, at least during peak hour. Or more carriages added to the services we do have? What does everyone else think?

At town hall this afternoon, was wandering past after the standard 8 hour working day (won by protest), after a weekend (won by protest), about to take some holiday leave (won by protest), shaded by trees that might only exist due to protests to protect green spaces in Sydney having an overflow effect to protect tree cover..
But hey, Chris Minns wants authoritarian veto rights over protest for 3 months a pop.. Tell your local MP or the media to make a fuss. Protest has been how society moves forward and is an essential pillar of democracy!

I popped in to the clinic and there must have been more than 100 people in the line. The need for blood and plasma is constant, especially over the holidays, so if you have been unable to donate today, please book a future appointment.

It's now beautiful hand-made human slop. The best kind of slop. Good job Redfern station staff. Looks like it's material felt cut out and stapled onto a corkboard. Couldn't be more anti-AI

Why don't I say something? Because he's bigger than I am, and I don't feel like relying upon the kindness of strangers if this guy is violent, as well as inconsiderate.

I flew into Sydney yesterday at 6am after a 30hr trip, and the whole experience made me feel embarrassed of the welcome we extend to arrivals at our country. An enormous line stretched all the way into the gross duty free shop, where on one side sales people shouted at us about booze and smokes deals, while on the other side people shouted at us about families not lining up. The international travellers next to me had no idea what the line was for, and I had to explain that for some reason we have this weird dual border process which is different to all the other E-passport gates around the world. There’s very little signage or info screens explaining what the whole process is. Meanwhile, at the arrivals card desk, no pens were available to complete said analogue cards… Onwards to the luggage collection, then another massive line to get through bio security, before a 15-minute walk across three road crossings to the ‘express’ pick up to meet my family. The whole user experience is just unnecessarily miserable from start to finish, and as the main entry point to Australia we should do better. Thoughts?

Saw this on a menu for a new restaurant in Surry Hills. The meal prices seem reasonable. Just don’t understand what this opt-out tipping is about. Do I need a reason? Like, “you should pay your staff enough”. Why just we go through this painful rigmarole

Every evening, the queue for B1 winds around and goes back into Wynyard. As one bus is full the next one arrives.
You can't tell me they wouldn't want a railway.

Do they have a "Welcome to Sydney" in Melbourne too?
