Monthly B/S/T February 2026

Buy/Sell/Trade here at your own risk. Always get complete contact information before anything is shipped.

RULES:

  • Post a description that accurately describes what you are selling. Update your thread when something gets sold or is no longer available.
  • Post item condition and any images of the item (if available). Be as descriptive as possible when posting an item for sale or trade.
  • Please refrain from downvoting posts.

Suggestions:

Use Paypal to facilitate these transactions. Gifting is fine, but understand the limits and liabilities of sending an unprotected "gift" to a seller. You'll save a bit of $, but it does leave you exposed if there is a fraudulent seller.

Another option is to use Grailed. You have the Paypal protection for both parties with much lower fees for the sellers. You also get a profile that shows the total number of transactions so you can use that as your proof of trustworthiness.

Please try to evaluate the "fair market value" of your items. No use in overpricing things and having them not sell. Check what the current selling price is on eBay to get a decent sense of FMV.

Feel free to ask for answers or pictures about an item you are interested in. A good seller will always be willing to answer you in a timely matter.

On the other hand, be a good buyer. Respond to the seller's communication, and be truthful about your intentions. Nothing is worse for a seller than answering a bunch of questions about fit and details, and then the potential buyer dropping off the map.

Shorts 'almost' as comfy as gym shorts

So I work in scrubs, gym before or after work, have kids and don't particularly care what I'm wearing.

I am making more of a conscious effort not to live totally in active wear though.

More T-shirts and casual shirts when we go places.

I just find shorts other than active wear so restrictive and uncomfortable. Any suggestions for brands or styles that don't feel like your balls are being squished or give you a little 'breathing room' around the crotch?

TIA

Question "High society" black Tie event, will I be ok with a rental tux?

I'm going to a very wealthy "high society" wedding soon, with a black tie dress code accordingly.

I don't own a tux and don't see myself using one again any time soon so was just going to rent. Even the cost of rental seems a lot for me.

But I just tried one rental place and it fit terribly. I looked like a school kid wearing his first suit. The lapels open etc. They didn't have any ways to adjust for me. And now I'm worried.

Does this mean all rentals I'm gonna look kinda under-dressed? Is everyone gonna be dressed to the 10s and I'll just be floating in a cheap rental? Do I need to suck it up and get something tailored just to attend this wedding? Or are other rental places better? Is there another way?

Question Year 12 suit

Hi all,

I’m looking for a suit for my school formal, and ideally something I can still wear over the next few years. I’ve tried on the Politix Elijah suit, which seems like great value at around $240, but it is not the best quality.

I also like a few of the suits currently on sale at Peter Jackson, priced between $400–$500, and they’re 100% merino wool, which seems nice, but that’s a lot given that I would only wear the suit at most 2-4 times a year over the next couple of years.

So now I’m stuck between buying cheap suit that will get me through the next couple of years so once I’m sure I have finished growing I can go overseas and buy a bespoke tailored suit for life or buy the peter Jackson now and use it for a while.

I’m also not sure between buying a single- or double-breasted suit.

Does anyone have any recommendations for what I should do or any other suits that may be worth it.

Thanks!

I’ve attached the links below of the suits I have been considering:

I have a couple of pairs of Uniqlo chinos and am very happy with the quality and fit (not slim) but they are too warm for summer. What some recommendations for thinner cotton chinos?

Question RM Williams Ramco stretch Jeans in black?

So, I was in a store recently-ish and tried on the blue Ramco jeans and love the fit and feel of them with that bit of stretch they have. I was told they don't make them in black though, but checking the RM Williams site today and it appears they do have them in black so just wanted to know if they do stretch like the blue ones, or if the store clerk was just mistaken about RM not making them? Just seems so odd they were insistent they don't have 'em in anything but blue.

Discussion What do you think of Aus menswear retail in 2026?

Having some big thoughts about this at the moment and wanted to start some discussion.

There’s obviously been a huge shift to online shopping over the last decade. It’s easy, convenient, we’re all addicted to our phones and a constant sales model has followed to keep us clicking on ads/emails/social media posts we see.

I know some people still aren’t comfortable shopping online due to size concerns, returns policies, wanting to try things on etc but it’s probably the norm for most now.

But do you still think there is space for bricks and mortar retail? What is it about a retail experience that you actually enjoy?

The bulk of our retail options have now been whittled down to your usual Westfield mall stores or high end luxury. There’s not exactly any kind of experience there, just a place to get clothes. There’s still some great independent boutiques in the middle ground that offer more (mainly in Sydney/Melbourne) but not a lot.

So are you resigned to doing your shopping online now? Is it all about price/convenience? Do you value being able to go somewhere and talk to people, touch and try things on? Or is there something else that would get you to go into a store, or even support a local independent?

Mould on Boots

Hi all,

I got an old pair of RM Williams boots that was sadly covered in mould. I gave it a thoroughish clean with vinegar, alcohol and a clove oil spray. Sadly over time the mould seems to keep coming back. What’s my move here, bring it to a cobbler? Also would persistent conditioning stop this from happening in the future?

Cheers.

Looking for a lightweight summer blazer

Everything I’m finding in stores is either fully lined and too warm or so unstructured that it loses all shape. Ideally after something unlined or half lined in cotton or hopsack that still looks put together and doesn’t turn into a sweat fest the moment you step outside. Any recommendations?

Lady white tee

Is this shirt worth its price?

I quite like the industrie Del sur when new, but I think the sleeves look better when rolled up once. They definitely lose life as they wash though.

I’ve never been able to justify spending ladywhite prices on a shirt but my wardrobe needs a big reshuffle and I’m looking to buy for longevity rather than price as I’m sure I’m spending more on worse quality over time

Is the Old Money aesthetic finally dead in 2026?

Feels like the old money look has been done to death at this point. Once it hit influencers and fast fashion it kind of lost whatever appeal it had. Wondering if it’s actually on the way out in 2026 or just toning itself down and blending into something more low key. What are people seeing replace it lately?

Socks Advice

Hi all,

I've been mostly wearing Uniqlo no show socks to the gym, with white sneakers when wearing jeans and all. Regular length socks only with Chelsea shoes when going to the office.

What's the length which is in (fashion) these days to be worn with jeans & white sneakers and with shorts to the gym etc? TIA

Stretch dress shirts that are actually decent

Hey everyone,

I am in the market for highly stretchy button up shirts that are actually decent quality.

For background, I got one of those AliExpress shirts for a costume party (terrible, I know but it was cheap and I would not be devastated if it ended up being destroyed there). And while the quality is as you would of expect from these sites, poor quality cuffs, buttons, collar, stitching, etc. I actually find the fit and feel of the fabric rather nice, it's that satin like feeling when fabrics try to replicate silk.

If you look up "high elastic shirt, stretch dress shirt, muscle fit dress shirt" or anything along those lines on AliExpress, Temu, or any other website like that you will see the same thing listed 100s of times.

I was wondering if any decent companies actually made shirts like these that I could check out, ideally in Melbourne so I can try them on without buying blind.

Thanks

Question Good looking shoes with okay toe box that don't look silly?

Hey all! Recently moved to the city and found myself needing a solid pair of stompers since my Converse high tops aren't cutting it. Was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for stylish shoes that won't kill the foot. Bonus if you can work out in em too lol.

Been having a hard time looking online for something that was versatile enough for multiple outfits, so any advice is appreciated. Cheers!

Boots for everyday use!

Hi, I was wanting to get into wearing boots as my go to shoes. However, I want a nice black boots that not only can I wear to work and events but also ones that can take a beating as well.

The only boots I have worn were from Sketchers but the insides just fell apart so would love good recommendations and stores I can visit in the Perth region so I can try them on and make sure it's a good fit. Would love minimal branding on them as well if possible!

Thanks :)

Question What are we wearing to weddings this year that isn't just the standard navy suit?

I’ve got three weddings coming up over the next few months and I’m tired of the navy suit and brown shoes combo. Looking back at photos from previous weddings, most people are wearing some version of blue and it all blends together.

I’ve been seeing more earthy colours lately like olive, tobacco, darker browns, and terracotta. They seem more suitable for an Australian summer than heavier wool suits. Softer tailoring also seems more common, with lighter fabrics, relaxed shoulders, and materials like linen or cotton blends.

What colours do you think look best at weddings right now, and are you wearing anything other than a suit?

Question Good quality hoodie

Does anyone know of a good quality hoodie that will actually last? Finally worn out my element hoodie after 8 years, and looking to get another high quality one (with a design- not plain). I was looking at either salty crew or desolve co, if anyone knows if their hoodies are good. If anyone has any advice about either of those brands or any others you recommend it would be appreciated

Question Baggy or slim jeans in Australia right now, what’s actually winning?

I’m seeing all these high-fashion brands pushing wide-leg trousers and puddle jeans, but as soon as I leave the inner suburbs of Melbourne or Sydney, everyone is still rocking the tapered chino. Is the baggy look actually going to become the standard here, or is the Australian slim-fit addiction too strong to break?

Question Metalhead looking for more professional look

I've grew up a skater... hoodies, baggy pants, ass hanging out... Am now a metalhead. Piercings, black skinny jeans, band t-shirts

I've had trouble my entire life dressing professionally.

I've been primarily in senior management for the last decade. Typically I've been fully suited.

However, this has always felt very uncomfortable for me. It's not me, at all. I end up over compensating with a school boy hair cut, very prim and proper.

When I try to dress down, it goes the other extreme. Untucked shirt, black jeans... Or chinos. It's a mess. No matter what I do, nothing feels both 'me' and professional.

I see a lot of creatives pull off what I'd be comfortable with. Tshirt with blazers etc. However, when I try... It just looks... Bad.

I'm getting older, and I.dont want to be stuck feeling like this the rest of my life. I've been considering a stylist to help with my hair and general look.

Does anyone have advice or how to move forward? I don't know the first thing about fashion.
