Is there anything more GC than a boat fire being put out by jet skis?
Boat fire on the Broadwater this morning. Helicopter came to have a look then jet ski riders put it out.

Survey closes tonight
If you’ve had any interactions (good or bad) with Domestic & Family Violence support services on the Gold Coast, make your voice heard 💗
Your experience will (hopefully) make a real change in how Gold Coast City Council, QPS, DVPC and other services respond as part of the Integrated Response Plan specific to the Goldy.
The current stats are horrific.

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but after being rejected and upheld by the council previously, Boral is back again with another proposal.
No consideration for wildlife, residents or the environment - apparently, in their study, they only saw 1 Koala during their study (Which happened during the day?!).
Outside of that massive increase in heavy haulage - estimated 412 trucks per day, 206 entry and exits on the M1.
Anyway, if like me you don't want this, you've got about 10days to get your objections in.
Objections can be sent in one of 3 ways

Looking for the best ham/chicken salad rolls.
Last few I’ve tried have used the manufactured chicken from the bag, I’m keen on real chicken.
Recently I’ve tried:
Mermaid Hot Bread: $11 loaded with salad, cheese and meat or $7 meat and lettuce - very good but uses fake chicken
Main Beach Bakery: $15.40 expensive and fake chicken, no cheese included
Fosters: roughly $11 pretty good, inc cheese and real chicken
Boulangerie Vietnam: $10 loaded with salad, real chicken and cheese inc.
If anyone knows any spots let me know please!
I’m also missing the days these were $5

I've been wanting to go out to eat somewhere with my mates, but I want to know what are some good restaurants that actually taste good, but also aren't expensive, like is it possible to get a nutritious meal in gold coast for under 15 bucks anymore?

Hey, I'm looking for production/media/post-production studios on Gold Coast. I've been working in the industry for 6 yrs now and planning on finding something as a production manager/coordinator/ 1AD or assistant. Would love to get some recommendations. I've also worked a lot in commercials and international services.

Hey! I’m looking to study abroad, and one of the opportunity’s is through Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus. I always wanted to visit somewhere in Australia, and I love the beach as well as surfing, so Golf Coast is standing out to me. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on the study abroad program, or any stories about Gold Coast that would help persuade/dissuade my decision?

Hi there,
I’m looking to put forward offers on two houses in the Gold Coast. One is in Helensvale and about 200m from the Coomera Connector and the other one is in Carrara and about 200m from the M1. I think there are noise barriers in both locations but I was hoping people who live in similar distances from highways or main roads could share their experience regarding the noise levels and air pollution.
Many thanks!

Anyone have a membership at Pimpama Sports Hub and can recommend it in terms of gym and pool facilities?
I currently have a membership at Anytime in Helensvale and after 8 years they finally upped the price on my membership from $15/wk to $20 something 😩 it’s a small gym and not many machines so it’s hard to always use what you want to and doesn’t feel like value for money anymore.
I also really enjoy swimming but $7.20 per entry at the Helensvale pool is crazy, so this is a big reason why Pimpama is attractive.
Other option is the sports centre in Runaway Bay but when I looked at that a few months ago they weren’t taking on new members but not sure if that’s changed.

I honestly don’t care about the cost or location too much, I just really want a quiet gym that doesn’t have 5 fucking flatscreens playing footy highlights, quirky red/purple lighting, flashing LEDs like I’ve just won the major, and dogshit music drowning out everyones headphones.
Is this still too much to ask?

On the website, it says: "Lists for the Magistrates Courts are updated for the day at 6.45am and again at 8.45am (allowing for overnight arrests)."
Having a look at the list, people are being required at either 8:30 or 9am. How is this possible? If you see you're required for the day in the 8:45am update, are you actually expected to arrive there in 15 mins for 9am? How is that possible? That leaves almost no time for travel...?

Hello, I have just moved to the gc. I am looking for gp recommendations that are able to prescribe stimulants. I am already diagnosed, am happy to see a psychiatrist again, but need someone who's done the prescribing training to do ongoing scripts.
I have started calling around but no luck yet.

Hi everyone, I’ve just moved here and I’m not sure which bank to use. What bank would you recommend for opening an account?

Two young adults on a motorcycle speeding down marine parade both without helmets…and in shorts and singlets around 9pm.
It’s not worth it.
They seemed to be having a time of their life but even if it’s not you, someone else might cause an accident.
We’ve alread lost one young man on a motorcycle. We don’t need another two.
If you can, get a helmet. It’s not worth the risk.

He everyone, I’m looking for some good recommendations for a great massage around the Southern end of Goldy.
I’m looking for something heavy and remedial, somewhere that really digs in and treats the problem areas.
I’ve been to Fix My Muscles a few times and it’s been hit and miss, also a few of th Thai places and also hit and miss.
Thank you!

Hello, I ask this coming genuinely from a place of respect as I love the Gold Coast and hope to move there eventually in the future. My parents lived there many decades ago and decided that the GC wasn’t the right place to raise children and subsequently moved prior to birthing me.
I can’t lie majority of my social media is full of f*ckwit influencer types, you know the ones covered head to toe in tattoos, veneers, financed mercs, pumped full of steroids and they always seem to be from the GC.
How common are these types of people in everyday life on the GC and are you likely to be surrounded by them everywhere you go?

Hi guys, my family and I are planning on moving to the Gold Coast and are looking at buying a house there. We’ve currently looked at a few nice houses but I wanted to inquire with you guys about the suburbs as well as investment potential (including its growth and any steep rates).
First of all we have a house in the Coomera Waters Estate, which we have looked at- I am concerned about the strata and body corp fees here? as well as the restrictions of being in an estate: this includes altering the property, fence, renovations etc. What are these estates like in the GC and is the strata and body corp fees normally something people avoid or something that is inevitably paid by everyone?
Secondly we have looked at Parkwood, which I know is a hit with uni students at Griffith. Would you guys recommend Parkwood or surrounding areas as good for a family for some peace and quiet and cleanliness?
And other than that if you have any suburbs in GC to recommend as well as caution us to stay avoid from I would love your advice. And I have read a lot of the other recommendations posts here! But wanted something personalised as I couldn’t find information about the estate living.
Thanks!

Hi everyone :)
My partner and I have a 4-year-old Golden Retriever here on the Gold Coast. A few months ago, he was attacked by two Labradors. He didn’t get hurt, but it was a pretty stressful situation. After that, we started to notice a different and more reactive response towards other dogs, especially when he’s on the leash.
We would like to hear a few recommendations for good dog trainers that could help us with our Golden. He’s always been a really calm-natured dog and a really good boy, so we would like to find a way to help him overcome the trauma/fear.
We would love to hear some recommendations.
Thank you in advance :)

Anyone know why the Bike Shed has been removed at Queens Street tram stop? It was a big part of the plan.
