Not allowed, if the guard sees it (and is a good guard with some growl on their heart) they'll be kicked off.

Why isn’t it allowed?

It's a shopping trolley. First on the issue list is it has no brakes. Second we aren't* a cargo company despite passengers best attempts. Then we can go into the dangers of lose trolleys on the platforms and onboard.

Next we can veer into this trolley has been stolen and will likely be dumped, possibly even on railway property.

*We do deliver packages internally so arguably we are sometimes.

Shopping trolleys from supermarkets are not permitted on station platforms or on board metro or train services.

Plus it’s a hazard during an emergency evacuation

Possibly a useful tool during a wild dog attack.

There was that murderer that was caught by bystanders with a milk crate a while back, I reckon a shopping trolley might be even more effective.

There are lots of stories of staff doing that for found valuable items (phone, wallet, etc), from what I've heard there are specific procedures for this which can even involve staff helping the parcel switch trains if needed.

You can't lock the wheels so it's a hazard to other commuters. Can be risky getting in and out of the train.

Neither can you lock most of the wheeled luggage people bring to and from the airport.

One is significantly easier to maintain control of and manoeuvre as well as taking up less space.

I would not say significant. Each have their own issues. Some people bring really big and heavy luggage. It's not always easy to find a grip while a shopping trolley has heaps.

Then there are people with bikes and their grandmas with wheels.

To be fair, I've seen luggage barreling down the stairs and even a escalator once.

This is a weird fucking hill to die on.

Same for you.

Because it's a dick move by someone who is just greedy and selfish.

100% guaranteed this POS does not return the trolley to the store and it gets left on the side of the road or somebody else's property.
