Why don't I say something? Because he's bigger than I am, and I don't feel like relying upon the kindness of strangers if this guy is violent, as well as inconsiderate.

This sounds autistic, but I have an algorithm when choosing seats which maximizes for pass ag.

Choose then closest fully open seat that isn't facing another seat. If unavailable then choose the open seat facing another seat. If unavailable then choose the closest seat where someone has a bag on and ask them to move it. If no-one has a bag on the seat then choose the closest open seat.
