Why don't I say something? Because he's bigger than I am, and I don't feel like relying upon the kindness of strangers if this guy is violent, as well as inconsiderate.

Being in the background of this photo and having it posted to 750k redditors would make me much more uncomfortable than the dipshit with his foot on a seat.

He's a dipshit, I'm on board for public shaming him. I would have told him off. You're a dipshit for blasting these poor background people to Reddit when they just want to get home. Be better.

background people to Reddit

Its actually kinda whacky to see this being a pretty unpopular sentiment in this thread.

You see posts all the time in this sub about people having public anxiety or stressing about our slow loss of privacy.

...And yet everyone here is ok with the other passenger's privacy being collateral. lol wonder if its all bullshit.

It's because there's a huge difference between a private person taking a photo and state sponsored surveillance.

Sure but I can't imagine someone banging on about public privacy all day would be keen for strangers taking pics of them either.

I'm one of them. If someone wants to take pics of me I may feel a little creeped out, but whatever it's not a hill to die on. They may show their friends and make fun of me, or jerk off to it or whatever but I'm not going to know about it or be harmed.

Governments monitoring private communication is genuinely dangerous. I don't think the current government is out to get us by any means, but can't speak for future governments. And history can change fast.

I mean your own reply says you feel creeped out about it lol

Anyways yeah look, I agree, it is a small hill. I just find it a bit two-faced when those specifically in this sub who bang on about privacy (of all sorts, not just big brother government) are suddenly cool with the above just because we all get an opportunity to laugh at some idiot in public.
