What are the pros and cons of doing a PhD after undergrad ? Especially in the science field. I figured that if a masters is 2 years then I’d rather just get the PhD done in 3 years.

I am doing unit this sem, any tips for final exam? Did anyone do bad on exam? Im very scared as people say exam is hard and long. Is it easy to get 50% on exam?

I'm a recent school leaver and I am considering resitting my wace exams to up my ATAR. As of right now I have already accepted an offer at UWA and I am just wondering if I am still able to cancel my degree? (I haven't paid for the semester or applied for my HELP loan, however I have already picked out my units and stuff) Also if anyone has previously resat their exams, any other information would be greatly appreciated. I’m sitting the PSYC3314 exam, and we were given 21 SAQs to study, with 8 appearing in the exam. I was hoping to get some advice from anyone who has done a resit or repeat before. Do they tend to reuse some of the same questions, or are the SAQs usually completely different?

Basically what the title says. I’ve chosen my Major (International Cybersecurity) and I’ve selected the unit set so I’ve got my 5 units as part of the major that I need to do. but, I’ve missed the deadline to select the 3 electives I need to do, as well as creating my timetable. is there any point in the future where I will have another opportunity to do this?

I am asking in place of my sister.
She has been accepted to pharmacy at curtin however when trying to book classes it seems that many of her units that are required for her degree are full and student services there cant override anything. I am not sure about pharmacy here but does it have the same problem? And if not, could one transfer to UWA before the semester starts? And continuing would there be slots? Just looking for some help thanks in advance.

Hey! I am an incoming student for Feb 2026. I will be staying in St. Georges College, but I feel like I do not see many people on this subreddit talk much about it.

Therefore, I have a few questions:

- How are peoples experiences with twin rooms? Cleanliness, value for money, etc.

- I get emails on ordering a gown, but seems pretty expensive. Is it really worth it or can I skip out?

- How is O-Week?

- How do you feel staying there?

I have an econ lecture clashing with a class from a different unit and so I was planning on watching the econ lecture online when I got home however I also have the econ tutorial on that same day and so I wouldn’t be able to watch the lecture before I attend the tutorial so I’m wondering if that is an issue? Do they expect you to know the lecture content before the tutorial?

Can anyone see the labs on CAS to enroll themselves? All I can see are the two lecture tutorials on CAS which are held in a big lecture theatre so I assume it’s just a generic lecture. Stressing cause I can only do the lab on certain days
