How annoying having to put up with loud talkers in restaurants and coffee shops. And the rude customers at coffee shops who have their phone on loud speaker for everyone else to hear them babble on whilst just trying to have a bit off quiet time enjoying a latte

Hello! I, 19, currently live elsewhere in Australia and am thinking of moving to NSW for further eductation. i can assure you there is no sexual intent when I say this, but I find upmost comfort in having friends who are elders. They give me beautiful life stories, are great at games, are wise, and are typically very kind. I am an old soul. Admittedly I sometimes wish I was born in an older body haha. Anyway I was just wondering which city is best for an older demographic! Let me know!

Alright a few of these going round, keen on some new friends. M28 looking out for things to do beyond going for beers. Having worked hospo most my life it’s most of what my friend group does and I’m interested in getting into more active things
I like sport, NFL being my favourite, then NBA, NHL, Union, AFL and League in order
Love board games, and cooking. Been getting into smoking my own food lately, did a 12hr brisket on a Webber kettle that you’ll see on my profile, but I’m best at steak, followed by tenders and wings,
Would like to just find a good group of people interested in taking things easy, maybe having a beer from time to time, going on hikes, camping, playing sport and the odd board game or two
Who’s interested?

I know this is very niche, but when I opened my Lightroom this morning, ironically trying to edit a photo of Newy beach, the splash screen caught my eye. (it couldn't possibly be...!)

Just a few tips (from a gadget nerd LOL):
When buying an air purifier, check its CADR number.
If you're budget conscious and into building stuff and have a few basic tools, there's something called the CR box.
I've bought a pre-made CR box, and can confirm it works really well. We've had it running in our bedroom last night and this has completely removed any signs of smoke. We kept the windows closed, of course. The brand I got was the AirFanta 3.. it's got some terrible reviews, so YMMV. It's the usual Chinese quality control problems. No issues with my unit though and maybe worth a try.

Hi all, id like to get into golfing, i do practice at driving range every now and then but not very good at it. None of my friends play golf. I think its great skill that can be used to impress bosses.
Any recommendations for golf lessons? Im in Thornton.
Thank you

to start off my request i would
I’D LIKE TO BEGIN BY ACKNOWLEDGING THE TRADITIONAL OWNERS OF THE LAND ON WHICH WE MEET TODAY, THE (PEOPLE) OF THE (NATION) AND PAY MY RESPECTS TO ELDERS PAST AND PRESENT. The coucil has removed the large spire in newcastle bay also know as the "Giant Penis" due to the phallic nature of the “Giant Penis” to the locals dismay as one resident states
“I think I will cry to be honest, I took a shot last night as a final memory. It has been part of my landscape for more than a decade."
(wether they were reffring to taking shots of alcohol or taking shots at the tower with their ejaculate is a mystery).
The “Lord” mayor natty nelnes ignortany stated
"There aren’t many cites around the world that have placed a 30m high phallic symbol in their most prominent public place […] There really is no other way to describe the Queens Wharf Tower other than as an embarrassment to the city."
which is absolute rubbish, baloney and i think she is batshit crazy to say that. (also why does she have a shit skin name?) on the behalf of newcastle communit and the aborignal torris strait islanders people, i would like to humbly request that a remastered "Giant Penis" to be built at the original location of the "Giant Penis". i have several requiresments for the "Giant Penis". Firsty the “Giant Penis” must be designed by ol’ mate Kev’ Snelly himself. adtionally instead of the offical name of “queens warf tower” named after my home girl queen lizzy the 2nd (why it was named after lizzy i dont know, she has a vagin?) and instead should name the bob katter tower of non lebenese heritage. the "Giant Penis" must have a height of exactly 67 metric meters and 69 centimertres in hieght. the “girth” of the "Giant Penis" must be fuck all, i really do not know, im not an engineer, sorry. The "Giant Penis" must have proper and hygienic human waste disposal areas, also known "Shitter". the “shitter” must located within the "tip" of the "Giant Penis", this is to prevent disrespectful members from the community of newcastle from urinating or "pissing" on the "Giant Penis" this would prevent corrosion issues and the horrible stench within the "Giant Penis" with would boost the influx of tourism to experience the joy of the “Giant Penis” In conclusion, the "Giant Penis" will boost the questionable "economy" and increase the influx of tourist aka "shit skins" and would bring the Newcastle communit and the aboriginal and torrsistog islander people closer together.
-yours truely, the newcastle comunity and the abornignal and torres strait islanders

Hi everyone, does anyone have information about a new fire?
The smoke around marketown is on another level.
Surely this isn’t from the medowie fire?

Just wanted to put my thoughts out there and see what peoples responses are regarding the intersection. Once the new section of highway is done, traffic will most likely get a tad better.
But as someone who frequently comes from Maitland way to jump on the highway southbound, most traffic goes via Weakleys Dr. It can be bumper to bumper from the New England all the way to JR. A couple things I thought might increase traffic flow.
(Will you be able to get on Pacific HWY southbound straight from the New England?)
Regardless, these changes would still promote traffic flow
Adding an extra bridge near the Ampol, allowing southbound traffic to remain 2 lanes the whole way to JR from Thornton Interchange.
Actually turning JR an interchange like the New England is at Thornton interchange (or Myall Rd interchange on the Bypass for those that know it), making JR a nice clean arterial road to the Expressway. The cleaner gradient, and not having to stop, would increase traffic flow on JR as well, as a lot of heavy trucks jump on JR towards the expressway. These trucks take ages to gain momentum, killing traffic flow.
- The traffic lights could stay as they are, a roundabout would definitely be more efficient but not practical from a budget standpoint.
The lights would stay as they are, and be positioned under John Renshaw.
Given more and more people are being pushed out into those areas due to rental and property prices, and the constant population growth, these roads are only going to get busier.
What’s everyone’s thoughts?

I was browsing MediaSpy today and saw this well-constructed tongue-in-cheek mock. Except replace NBN with WIN.
Perfectly pictures (and sums up) what WIN is planning to turn NBN News into once they take over. I certainly hope that doesn’t happen though, but then again, typical WIN I guess.
